Data Clean Rooms updates featuring Python 3.13 and new edits

New improvements arrive in the Snowflake Data Clean Rooms environment, including runtime updates to Python 3.13 and collaboration edits reaching GA.

• Upgrade the runtime to Python 3.13 for enhanced security and performance.
• Manage collaborator roles in collaborations now that the feature is generally available.
• Avoid security scan timeouts when removing templates.

How to use

To check your current clean rooms API environment version, run the following SQL command:

SELECT * FROM SAMOOHA_BY_SNOWFLAKE_LOCAL_DB.ADMIN.VERSION;

What happens in this code:

1. The command queries the version table inside the local database of the Data Clean Rooms application.
2. The query returns the current API version number for tracking.

To enable automatic API updates:

USE ROLE SAMOOHA_APP_ROLE;
CALL SAMOOHA_BY_SNOWFLAKE_LOCAL_DB.library.enable_local_db_auto_upgrades();

What happens in this code:

1. Sets the active role to the Data Clean Rooms administrator role.
2. Calls the stored procedure that enables automatic upgrades for the local database.

Limitations and requirements

Available in supported Data Clean Rooms regions. Not available in government and VPS deployments.
