File-level Git commit in Microsoft Fabric
Commit specific files to Git in Fabric without having to commit the entire workspace at once.
O que mudou
Use cases
Imagine you are working on multiple items in your workspace, but only a few files are ready to be versioned. With file-level commits, you select which individual files you want to push to the repository while keeping the rest of your unfinished work in the workspace.
How to use
Open the Git control panel in your Fabric workspace, select the specific files you want to version, and click the commit option.
What happens in this process:
- Fabric identifies only the files you marked.
- The selected items are pushed to the current Git branch.
- Unselected files remain modified within the workspace.
Limitations and requirements
Available in Public Preview. Works only with supported Fabric items that have Git integration enabled.
