Standard performance mode now available for one-time runs in Jobs API

Set the performance_target parameter to STANDARD for one-time runs in the Jobs API and Apache Airflow.

O que mudou

You can now set the performance parameter to Standard in one-time job runs. This option is also supported in the Apache Airflow operator.

Use cases

Imagine you have a one-time run that does not require maximum infrastructure resources and you want better control over processing behavior. You can:

  • Set the performance target directly in the run API call.
  • Integrate the feature into Apache Airflow DAGs using the dedicated operator.

How to use

Send the performance_target parameter with the STANDARD value in the one-time run API request.

{
  "job_id": 11223344,
  "performance_target": "STANDARD"
}

What happens in this code:

  1. The request targets the desired job by ID.
  2. The performance_target parameter is set to STANDARD.
  3. Databricks processes the one-time run applying the chosen performance profile.
